Separate aircon cleaning from other property work, and confirm the person responsible for each task before appointments are arranged.
Define the separate tasks
A cleaning contractor, an electrician and a person assessing the refrigeration system may have different responsibilities. Explain the work you want completed and ask who is proposed for each part. Do not assume that one booking, trade name or advertisement proves authorisation for every task involving an air conditioner.
For a broader renovation, make a short list of dependencies. A wall finish, fixed cabinet or access change may affect when cleaning can sensibly occur. Ask each provider what they need from the others, and record the sequence rather than relying on an informal expectation that someone else will coordinate it.
Check credentials and permissions directly
Ask the provider for the credentials relevant to the proposed work and use the appropriate public register to check them. The Australian Refrigeration Council and Queensland electrical safety resources provide consumer information for their respective areas. For a rental or shared building, confirm who can approve work and entry. An appointment organised by an occupant does not automatically authorise changes to other peoples equipment or common property. Resolve those arrangements with the people responsible before a contractor arrives.
Keep separate scope records
Each proposal should state the work, exclusions and approval process for additional findings. Ask how completion will be recorded and how one provider will communicate a limitation that affects another task. Avoid presenting a cleaning report as evidence that unrelated electrical, building or refrigeration work has been certified.
If the immediate concern is an operating fault or damaged equipment, identify the appropriate assessment before arranging routine cleaning. Keep the equipment out of use where it is unsafe, and do not attempt electrical work or disturb refrigerant components yourself.
